The federal government must fess up to misleading minors by saying air quality was safe, says Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer, and it must take action to provide funding to minors who were attending lower Manhattan schools in the days after 9/11, and are facing increased health risks.

On Sunday, October 1st at 1:00 PM outside of Stuyvesant High School, 345 Chambers Street (west of the West Side Highway), Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer will be joined by lower Manhattan students who attended school in the days after 9/11 and concerned parents to demand the federal government address the health concerns facing former students and all New Yorkers. The group will include former Stuyvesant High School students Lila Nordstrom and Amit Friedlander, who was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, as well as parents from PS/IS 89, and PS 234.

The group believes that the federal government and the Environmental Protection Agency misled students and all New Yorkers by saying that air quality was safe in the days after the terrorist attacks.
