KingSize Presents Abstract Graffiti

Aaron Lazansky-Oliva's Graffiti

by Lois Stavsky

Our local Essex Street bar KingSize is hosting Hard Rockz ‘N’ Cotton Candy, a solo exhibit by Aaron Lazansky-Oliva aka Spaze Crafte One.

A graphic and visual artist, Aaron Lazansky-Oliva aka Spaze Crafte One has been creating innovative urban artwork for over a decade. From his stylish graffiti-inspired jewelry to his vibrant murals, Lazansky-Oliva’s craft has been nationally acclaimed.

A pioneer of abstract graffiti, Lazansky-Oliva has recently created a series of works on canvas that advance urban art to yet another level as they fuse the abstract and figurative realms. Characterized by swooping patterns of visual rhythms, playfully expressive imaginative creatures and seductive segments of color, they pulsate with urban vitality.

Spaze Crafte One’s work has been exhibited in galleries throughout North America. Among these are MadamEdgar in Montreal, Southern Exposure Gallery and Culture Cache Gallery in San Francisco, the Independent Media Center in Seattle, and New York University’s Bronfman Center Gallery.

Exuding both innocence and sophistication with its fusion of primitive art and modern design, the dreamy and provocative artwork on exhibit in HARD ‘N’ COTTON CANDY delights and intrigues.

The opening reception will take place on Thursday evening, October 19th from 7-11. Curated by Lois Stavsky, the exhibit continues through December 3rd.

KingSize is located at 21 Essex Street between Hester and Canal Streets on New York City's Lower East Side. It is open Mon–Fri: 5pm-4am, Sat: 7pm-4am and the last Sunday of the month from 1-7pm.
